FABRICS WITH A STORY

We care about what we wear, and so do you. Our philosophy: Buy better, Buy less. The natural fabrics used in our clothing are grown without pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers.

TENCEL™ is known as one of the leading sustainable fabrics throughout the fashion industry. Fibers are made from wood pulp, extracted from several types of sustainably grown wood, most commonly eucalyptus, and undergo a special ‘spinning” drying technique.

The company that manufactures TENCEL™ is renowned for using a closed-loop system that recovers and reuses all water, solvents, and chemicals in the production process. This keeps harmful chemicals out of the local environments, minimizing the environmental impact of production.

It breathes. Deeply. It hums. If you listen carefully, you might hear it singing. Some call it “washable silk”. We just call it magical.

Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing crops and is self-regenerative, meaning it doesn’t need to be replanted and doesn’t require pesticides. This makes it an especially good choice as a sustainable fabric. Bamboo also requires less water compared to traditional crops and releases more oxygen, for better air.

Our team is dedicated to researching and testing alternative regenerative fabrics.

Organic cotton is an ecologically responsible fiber. Unlike conventional cotton, which uses more chemicals than any other crop, it is never genetically modified and does not use any highly polluting chemicals such as those found in pesticides, herbicides, and many fertilizers.

Integrated soil and pest management techniques—such as crop rotation and introducing natural predators of cotton pests—are practiced in organic cotton cultivation.

Linen is one of the most biodegradable and stylish fabrics in fashion history. It is strong, naturally moth resistant, and made from flax plant fibres, so when untreated (i.e. not dyed) it is fully biodegradable. Our supplier uses organic methods of developing better and stronger flax seeds, manual weeding, and rotates crops to minimize weeds and potential disease.

The linen is woven into a soft and breezy finish, making it ideal for any summer wardrobe. Our linen drapes beautifully and is durable and sturdy to handle any wear.

Our Ponte Roma fabric is Oeko-Tex Certified, composed of a synthetic rayon made from wood fibers. The least regenerative of our fabrics, Ponte Roma is used for our structured clothing pieces as it keeps its shape and has better durability than most natural fabrics.

You can find Ponte Roma in most of our blazers, structured pants, and dresses. We make these styles in timeless, classic designs so they can stay in your closet forever without looking dated. We understand this fabric is not as highly sustainable as our other fabrics so we make a point of designing items with Ponte Roma that will last you a lifetime and stay out of the landfill.

Our team is dedicated to researching and testing alternative regenerative fabrics.

FOR LONG-LASTING RESULTS

✔ Wash cold on a delicate cycle (Hot temperatures will cause garments to shrink 3-4%)

✔ Hang or lay flat to dry

✔ If your garment is colour blocked, it’s best to always wash the garment in cold water and immediately hang or lay flat to dry

PRINTED and EMBROIDERED GARMENTS

✔ Turn inside out before washing

✔ Wash cold on a delicate cycle

✔ Lay flat or hang to dry

✔ And enjoy longer-lasting colour and embroidered detail

BONUS CARE TIPS

Viscose from Bamboo/organic cotton is as easy to care for as any cotton t-shirt, with one exception: it is heavy when wet. Laying flat to dry when possible will help eliminate stretch, plus help conserve energy by eliminating the dryer!

We also recommend washing on the delicate cycle with similar soft garments. (This means avoiding adding soft garments to loads with rough denim, metal, or Velcro.)

We recommend using Tru Earth Laundry Strips when washing your items. It’s laundry detergent that’s gentle on your skin, the environment, and your clothing.
